Location: New Zealand is located in the southwestern part of the Pacific Ocean and consists of two main islands, North Island and South Island and the capital city is Wellington.

Climate: New Zealand’s climate is predominantly temperate maritime with mean annual temperatures ranging from 10 °C (50 °F) in the south to 16 °C (61 °F) in the north. Historical maxima and minima are 42.4 °C (108.32 °F) in Rangiora, Canterbury and −25.6 °C (−14.08 °F) in Ranfurly, Otago.

Studying: State schools are government funded and operated, and are free to New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.All state and state integrated schools follow the national curriculum: The New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) for English-medium schools and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) for Māori-medium schools. Private schools do not need to follow the national curriculum, but must have a curriculum that is at least equivalent to NZC or TMoA.
